Miriam Jenei Albainy, LPC

Therapist

Hello

I’m glad you’re here.

I know that reaching out for therapy can feel like a big step, especially when your thoughts feel overwhelming or you’ve been trying to manage everything on your own. My passion for this work comes from seeing how deeply anxiety, OCD, trauma, and self-doubt can affect the way we experience ourselves and our lives.

I believe therapy should be a place where you can be honest, feel understood, and make sense of what you’re going through without judgment. Wherever you are in your journey, we can start there—one step at a time.

Where we will start

You don’t have to keep living at the mercy of your thoughts.

If you find yourself caught in unwanted thoughts, overwhelming doubts, repeated checking, reassurance-seeking, intrusive images, or mental rituals that seem impossible to turn off, you may be exhausted from trying to find certainty or control. OCD can make even everyday decisions feel overwhelming, and the more you try to push uncomfortable thoughts away, the louder they can become. You deserve a space where you can talk about these experiences without judgment and learn healthier ways to respond to them.

As a therapist, I have a particular interest in working with adults experiencing Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), anxiety, depression, trauma-related concerns, relationship difficulties, life transitions, and challenges with self-esteem. I understand that OCD and anxiety can look different for everyone, and my goal is to help you understand your patterns rather than feel defined by them.

My approach is evidence-based, collaborative, and person-centered, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and other therapeutic approaches tailored to your individual needs. When working with OCD, we may gradually work toward facing uncomfortable thoughts, feelings, and uncertainty without relying on compulsions or avoidance. The goal is not to eliminate every uncomfortable thought, but to help you build confidence in your ability to experience uncertainty without allowing it to control your life.

I also recognize that you are more than a diagnosis. Whether you are struggling with anxiety that keeps you constantly on edge, depression that has made life feel heavy, trauma that continues to affect your relationships, or simply feeling stuck and unsure of your next step, therapy can provide a place to slow down, understand yourself, and begin moving forward.

You do not need to have everything figured out before starting therapy. My goal is to create a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where you can feel heard, understood, and empowered to make meaningful changes at your own pace.

If you are tired of fighting with your thoughts or feeling like anxiety is running your life, I would be honored to work with you.
